Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD)/ CPCD...giving children a head start

CPCD offers free tuition, high-quality early childhood education that has an immediate impact on children's lives and creates the foundation for lifelong learning. CPCD operates more than 65 classrooms in school districts 2,3,8,11,20, and 49, including a standalone facility with six classrooms on Fort Carson. The purpose of the program is to prepare young children for success in school and support families in their role as their child's first and best teacher. CPCD serves pregnant women, children ages 0-5, and their families. Classroom hours/times depend upon which program the child is enrolled.

  • Application Process:Please refer families to CPCD by completing the Enrollment Referral Form at https://www.cpcdheadstart.org/refer 2. Complete the pre-application or call CPCD to begin the enrollment process.

  • Eligibility Requirements:El Paso County Residents . Their three core programs are geared toward the aid and success of children prenatal-3 with our Early Head Start Program, and 3-5 with our Head Start and Colorado Preschool Program.Early and traditional Head Start Programs require families to qualify based on income (at or below the annual federal poverty guideline). There are no income requirements for children with special needs concerns warranting an evaluation for IEP or IFSP, foster kiddos, or families currently utilizing TANF or SSI benefits. Colorado Preschool Program eligible kiddos are those whose families qualify based on eligibility factors.
