A 20-year US Army veteran will speak at the League of Women Voters virtual meeting

Jan. 9—League of Women Voters Lower Cape Fear "Hot Topics" for January will be sponspored by Brunswick County Voter Services. The topic will be on "A Conversation with Veronica Carter: "Make It Better than You Found It."

Veronica Carter is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, a Leland Town Council member, first elected in 2019, and a leader of the Southeastern North Carolina Environmental Justice Movement, working to ensure environmental justice empowerment, advocacy, and education. Veronica will discuss her vision of "making it better than you found it," her 2019 election campaign theme, with a focus on framing your message and selling it to a broad audience.
