I recommend that any active duty servicemember thinking about seeing a provider at the 21st medical group mental health clinic consider this information before possibly hindering their career. Any active duty member seen by mental health for ANY reason in the 12 months prior to a deployment or a PCS will be required to obtain a 'waiver' before mental health will sign off the out-processing checklist. The mental health clinic will not inform you of this waiver in advance of seeking treatment. Your deployment/pcs orders could potentially be canceled, dependent on this 'waiver' that mental health claims must be completed for anyone seen in their clinic during the prior 12 months. Good luck actually getting this waiver however, as they make the process as difficult as possible.
