Operation TBI Freedom (OTF) is privately funded program of Craig Hospital, that provides support for Veterans and military personnel with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). OTF serves the entire state of Colorado. Each eligible Veteran is assigned a military support specialist (MSS) who is a veteran and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. The MSS begins with a comprehensive analysis of the veteran's needs and concerns. Services provided or coordinated by OTF include the following: long-term case management, crisis management, mentoring/peer support, emergency financial assistance for immediate needs; employment training and assistance, educational programming, mental health and medical referrals and connections, assistance navigating complex benefit processes, peer support groups, assistive technology resources, and much more.

Eligibility for OTF: Served in any branch or component of the military at least one day one or after September 11, 2001; must reside in Colorado and have evidence or history of TBI/TBI event(s); TBI must have occurred after start of military service, whether active, reserve or Veteran status. Referrals to OTF can be made by the individual Veteran, a community partner, a clinician, etc.
