Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) is a federally funded program designed to help eligible low-income households with winter home heating costs. LEAP is not intended to pay the entire cost of your home heating. LEAP benefits are available to all eligible persons without regard to race, color, sex, age, handicap, national origin, political beliefs or religious beliefs.

  • Eligibility Requirements:If your income is up to 60% of the state median income level, you may qualify for heating assistance through LEAP. The state median income level used for the 2020-21 LEAP season was released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in July 2020. The amount of the energy assistance benefit varies depending on a variety of factors, including the primary heating fuel costs and income.

They approved very quickly and replaced an old heater with a new one and added a credit to Excel Energy for my mother quickly

My daughter tried and tried to get assistance to no avail. I finally , though it was very hard for me , had to pay utility bill. Good luck trying to get assistance from LEAP
