BRIEF: Tenino Veterans Memorial Dedication Set For Nov. 11

Oct. 16--The new Veterans Memorial in Tenino City Park will be dedicated during a ceremony at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11.

Government officials including U.S. Rep Denny Heck (D-WA 10th District) and members of the Thurston County Board of Commissioners are expected to attend. Heck and U.S. Army Lieutenant General Gary Volesky will speak during the ceremony.

Representatives from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, prominent local veterans and an ensemble from the 56th Army Band based out of JBLM will also be part of the ceremony.

Tenino Mayor Wayne Fournier will conclude the ceremony at 11 a.m., marking the moment a century ago when the Armistice Treaty ending World War I took effect.

Traffic controls will be set up around the park to account for the expected crowd. For more information, call 360-264-2368.
