Grants will support veterans, military families

The Derry News - 2/12/2018

DERRY - The Center for Life Management (CLM) has been awarded two grants designated to support the provision of mental health services for veterans, military members and their families.

The grants were awarded by the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust in the amount of $20,000 and by the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program in the amount of $25,000.

CLM is committed to providing access and quality of behavioral health care for veterans, military members and families through the Military Advantage Program, supported by these grants.

CLM is able to provide an integrated, wrap-around approach and a scope of services that includes clinical mental health services, case management, supported employment and other supportive services.

Celia Felsenberg, CLM director of Strategic Development, said focusing on veterans and those serving in the military and their family members is something that makes the facility proud.

"We are proud to participate in the statewide Community Mental Health Center Military Liaison Initiative," she said. "As part of our commitment, we have established a military focused, multi-disciplinary treatment team and all members have completed Military Culture training and, in some cases, have military experience themselves. Additionally, we have adopted the 'Ask the Question' campaign to actively identify service members and their families beginning with our intake process."

CLM is a comprehensive mental health facility serving the region for 50 years, and helping more than 5,000 individuals through clinical and community outreach programs. To learn more about CLM, call 434-1577 or visit centerforlifemanagement.org.
