Nashville Singer-Songwriter JT Cooper To Perform At The Bunkhouse

The Greeneville Sun - 6/24/2017

Nashville recording artist and U.S. Army veteran J.T. Cooper will be in concert tonight at The Bunkhouse in Bulls Gap.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and Cooper will take the stage around 8, organizers say.

In his online biography, Cooper describes his music as being in the same "vein of Southern truth boys" like Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Admission to the show is $8. Dinner is available for $7.

The Bunkhouse is located at 858 Bulls Gap-St.Clair Road, in Bulls Gap.

During his military service, Cooper served with the Army's elite 10th Mountain Division.

According to the musician's biography, he was on the ground as part of the rescue forces during "Blackhawk Down."

He was injured in the line of duty and was awarded a Combat Infantryman Badge and a Purple Heart.

Following his service, Cooper said that music has helped him to cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. He said he now spends a significant amount of time "using music to rescue the new generation of warrior's coming home."
