Nov. 4--The following Veterans Day events are scheduled from Panama City Beach to Panama City.

Monday, Nov. 11

VETERANS DAY FREEDOM CELEBRATION: 9-11 a.m. at Capt. Anderson's Marina, 5550 N. Lagoon Drive, in Panama City Beach with cruise immediately after the program. Free Dolphin Encounter for all veterans, retired military, active military and their families (military I.D. required). Limited seating; concession stand will be open to purchase snacks. BAY COUNTY'S ANNUAL VETERANS DAY PARADE: 9:30 a.m. south along Harrison Avenue from East 13th Street to the Panama City Marina, followed by 10:30 a.m. ceremony; hosted by the Bay County Board of County Commissioners and the Bay County Veterans Council. Bill Gobat, Lt. Colonel, USMC (Ret) will serve as Master of Ceremonies; guest speaker Col. Brian S. Laidlaw, 325th Fighter Wing, Air Combat Command, Tyndall Air Force Base; laying of the wreath by Cmdr. Kevin Christenson, Naval Support Activity Panama City, escorted by Mosley High School Marine Corps JROTC. National Anthem by Neysa Wilkins, taps by Ron Sheffler, and performance by Panama City Pipes & Drums.

CAPE ST. GEORGE LIGHTHOUSE VETERANS DAY CEREMONY: 11-11:45 a.m. in Lighthouse Park at St. George Island; presented by The St. George Lighthouse Association in partnership with SGI Veterans Reveille Group and the 106th American Legion in Apalachicola. Guest speaker will be Gordon "Goose" Hunter, the original "Goose" before the "Top Gun" movie character. His roommate was the technical adviser for the movie. Most notably, Gordon flew his last mission alongside Sen. John McCain on the day he was shot down. Refreshments will be provided, and lighthouse will be open with free climbs offered to veterans.

11-11: FREEDOM ISN'T FREE: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. free sandwiches and cake for all veterans and active duty military personnel with live performance of national anthem at noon at Mission BBQ, 508 E. 23rd St., Panama City. Details: Mission-BBQ.com

VETERANS DAY FULL MOON CLIMB: Noon-8 p.m. EST, at the Crooked River Lighthouse, 1975 U.S. 98 West in Carrabelle. All U.S. military veterans are invited to tour the museum and climb the lighthouse for free all day and evening. All others pay $5 from noon to 5 p.m. Live Afro-Cuban drumming music by Master Yazid Johnson and the band Cinco Mas Cervezas. Full moon and sunset climb is 5-8 p.m.; free for veterans and $8 for all others. The museum and gift shop will be open. Details: CrookedRiverLighthouse.com

MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT: 5-9 p.m. free dinner buffet and beverage at Golden Corral, 105 E. 23rd St., Panama City for all active and retired U.S. military personnel. Details: militaryappreciationnight.com.
